Software Engineer Backend Python Remote Hybrid

Hybrid / Remote - 1 day every two weeks

We're partnering with an ambitious early-stage AI software company building a next-generation platform used by Private Equity, Venture Capital, Private Credit and Corporate M&A firms to make faster, smarter and more transparent investment decisions.

This isn't another SaaS application. The platform combines AI, structured data, institutional knowledge and enterprise-grade software engineering to solve complex problems for some of the world's most sophisticated investors.

As one of the early engineers, you'll have genuine influence over the architecture, engineering standards and technical direction of the platform as it scales.

You'll work across backend engineering, cloud infrastructure and platform architecture, building secure, scalable systems that power AI-driven products.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and building production-grade backend services using Python.

• Defining cloud architecture and engineering best practice.

• Building secure enterprise applications with robust authentication and authorisation.

• Developing APIs and distributed services used by AI-powered products.

• Working closely with product, founders and customers to solve real business problems.

• Taking features from initial concept through to production deployment.

• Improving scalability, performance, reliability and observability across the platform.

• Helping shape the engineering culture as the company grows.

We're interested in product-minded software engineers who enjoy solving difficult technical problems and taking ownership.

You'll ideally have experience with:

• Python development.

• Building production SaaS or enterprise software products.

• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).

• Designing scalable backend architectures and APIs.

• Enterprise authentication and security (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SSO, RBAC, JWT or similar).

• Databases including PostgreSQL and modern data architectures.

• Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.

• Modern engineering practices including testing, monitoring and infrastructure as code.

Experience with AI or machine learning is beneficial but not essential.

You'll join at a stage where engineering decisions genuinely matter.
